OK, So I'm Not Perfect... Kitchen Ninja Blooper

Are you always burning the candle at both ends, trying to be the perfect parent, worker, spouse? I know I am, especially this time of year. No scratch that, I could say that any time of the year. It never seems to change.

This particular weekend was not unlike any other. My family had way too many events planned, on top of the fact that we were trying to catch up from the busy week. It seemed the perfect time to throw yet another project onto the to do list and so we spent Sunday, all day, filming a video for your enjoyment.

My hope and goal was to give you a super short, super easy video on how to prepare my sweet potato coins. Everyone loves this side dish from picky babies to "grump-pa's" and I wanted you to have this recipe for your next party side dish.

Making this dish is a breeze, until you add a video camera, lights, makeup, working with your spouse, 2 needy cats, a loud refrigerator, 6 noisy chickens, and kitchen tools that...well... let's just say we weren't working with the sharpest tool in the shed.

Spoiler Alert... watch the video first... it's only 40 seconds...

I managed to make this dish look harder than it should be, less fun, and less fast. You can see the muscles tensing in my hand as I try to push through and make this video perfect, it was only "Take 16" after all. My husband and I finished the project with plan B, we finally sat down way too late, and watched the videos.

After an endless day of trying to perfect the videos, we fell in love with this ridiculous blooper. We hope you like it to. I think it demonstrates that we are not super humans, we are just parents trying so hard to get it right all of the time, and often we just need to slow down and go with plan B.

I know you get it! It's just not possible to do everything perfect and sometimes it just feels better to laugh at yourself and move on. Well that's what we did... and so we offer you our silly blooper reel.

Through plan B, I will be able to provide the real video for my wildly popular sweet potato coins next week. It may not be in time for your holiday party, but it's the best I can do.

For now, please enjoy the blooper... because life just gets better and better with each laughing moment.
