15 Egg Free Breakfasts
I love eggs! They're incredibly nutrient dense, nourishing to the thyroid, your metabolism, hormones, and fertility, but sometimes I just need a break. I know a healthy body needs variety, but I often get stuck on the same old recipes. So here are 15 egg free breakfast ideas without gluten or sugar to mix things up.
1. Plantains
I love plantains and can't believe how many people have never tried them. Buy them black, I mean really spotted and they will fry up sweet in a matter of minutes. We like to sprinkle ours with cinnamon and sea salt after frying them in butter and then top them with yogurt or mango salsa.
2. Strawberry Smoothie
I know when summer is baking the last thing you want to do is cook. Time to pull out the blender and make ice cream for breakfast. We make ours with whole raw milk, frozen berries, and frozen bananas. You can add a touch of raw honey if you're still stuck with a nagging sweet tooth. Add a spoonful of coconut oil to slow down the sugar rush and make your smoothie fuel your brain longer.
3. Traditional Muesli
I love a breakfast I can put together the night before, or even better with no cooking required on a hot summer night. Try this traditional soaked muesli for a fun twist on granola and yogurt.
4. Savory Oatmeal
People look at me shocked when I pull out my oatmeal with leftover veggies from the night before. But think about it, oats are like rice or any grain that tastes delicious with plenty of butter and sea salt. The sooner you can get away from a sweet breakfast, the bettor for your health. Try topping your savory oatmeal with leftover Brussel sprouts and bacon, sautéed kale with garlic, or broccoli with lemon and parmesan cheese for a new take on oats.

These are genuinely simple. Just heat up an organic corn tortilla on the griddle in some melted butter and spread on refried beans. Top with some crumbled cheese, ham, bacon, and fresh herbs. You can go crazy with salsa, fresh greens, guacamole or keep it simple. My kids call these Mexican Pizzas and can make them by themselves... bonus!
10. Cukes and Lox
This is my version of fancy preserved fish for breakfast. Layer the salmon on a fresh cucumber instead of a heavy carb bagel, and top with a bit of yogurt, tzatziki, or sour cream, and then get fancy with fresh dill, caviar, or a squeeze of lemon. I often throw the packages in my bag and assemble this at my desk where I can sit down and enjoy it.
11. Sweet Apple Hash
Oh, sweet apple hash, one of my favorite inventions for the detox. This can taste like an apple pie a la mode if you close your eyes and relish the flavors. The only difference is, it's full of healthy fats and lacks the obnoxious amount of sugar.
12. Homemade Trail Mix
This little mixture never leaves my handbag. Raw nuts, dried fruit, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and coconut chips can carry me through to lunch in a pinch. I always say, "don't be confined by the word breakfast." As soon as you can get off the sweets, try some salads for breakfast. I love a BLT salad with a dollop of homemade mayo for dressing or a simple caprese salad with basil, mozzarella, and tomatoes. The possibilities are endless...

15. Roasted Vegetable leftovers
If you're unsure about diving into dinners for breakfast, start by trying some leftovers that have a sweet taste. Roasting vegetables the night before is a great way to kill 2 birds with 1 stone. Eat them for dinner and then again for brekkie.
